Are you a confident, backcountry rider that needs a powerful, thick-built, weight bearing mount that will handle rough terrain like only the very best gaited mule can? Do you want to hit the trails right NOW? Well, here you GO!
4
25
The Texan is a little “brick outhouse” of a gaited john mule who has earned himself the nickname of “Dozer”- and it’s NOT because he’s sleepy! Dozer is short for Bulldozer, and boy does he live up to it! Down and dirty terrain-crushing skills are this one’s bread and butter. Everything about this compact, muscular John mule, from his rock hard little mountain goat feet to the tips of his big old radar dish ears makes for a super functional, yet easy-on-the-eyes package. Truly, the ORIGINAL luxury offroad recreational vehicle!
Looking at him standing still, you’d expect the Texan to be strong as a mountain and rooted to the earth, but you’re in for a surprise - he has really, REALLY fantastic gaits! He floats along in a clear, effortless-looking and outrageously smooth range of 4 beat speeds, transitioning gently from a flat walk up to a very brisk and correct running walk. This type of ride is gentle not only to the rider, but also to the animal, too. It’s part of the reason gaited mules are known for their go-all-day stamina. The Texan’s gaits aren’t just easy to ride, but also easy to look at - like I said, you wouldn’t expect a brick outhouse to be so darn PRETTY!
In the pen, The Texan is towards the top of the pecking order, but not a bully, and can be caught easily with grain. He warms up even more once he gets to know you. Under saddle, he prefers men or very confident women - like many mules, he wants to check your resume before he takes orders. This makes him a bit intimidating for novice or fearful riders, but once he’s convinced your judgment is good, he has a solid work ethic and is a practical, uncomplicated partner with a whole host of high-end skills that we expect from our seasoned mules. He’ll open and close gates, sidepass, and one-hand back up as smooth silk.
At 14.3 The Texan isn’t the tallest mule out there, but he’s so stout he routinely gets guessed as much taller than he is. He uses up a lot of leg, so even a tall rider won’t feel out of place in his saddle. As for us, we consider him to be about the perfect size - but The Texan does perform the “Pick Me Up” trick, and will sidepass over to you - whatever you’re standing on - and position himself to stand like a statue for mounting. He’ll also do the same, in reverse. We call it the “Drop Me Off”- where he’ll sidepass over to deposit you back on the mounting block or wherever you want to dismount. This might not seem like a big deal during warm weather, but come winter? It sure cuts down on the pain of cold feet hitting the ground after a long drop- a sensation everyone would like to forget! ALL our mules are trained to stand for at least 45 full seconds from mounting before it’s time to go. We consider it adding a “parking brake.”
This surefooted trail machine is well-seasoned, flashy and ready for all the adventure that the 2024 trail season can bring. Rock climbing? Creek wading? Big group trail rides? Come meet him - then go bust up some brush on this bulldozer and have the BEST summer yet!!
Lighting
Lightning- Naturally Gaited John Mule
Bright sorrel with unique Tobiano markings, high socks
Well-bred Tennessee Walker dam 14.3-15 hands, medium build
SOLD

At MMCO, we find that our methods-proven over the last 30 years- consistently take good mules and turn them into the BEST trail partners! Lightning is a perfect example of the kind of mule we make- the kind that everyone wants, and is SO hard to find.
From his very first days of training in our Playpen Program, Lightning has been consistently easy to handle, quick to learn, and just downright uncomplicated to be around. His very nature is laid-back and patient. You’re the boss, and he’ll stand quietly at your side and wait for you to call the shots from the ground, or glide you on down the trail - in style!
3
4
Lightning was also a star pupil on ALL the important lessons we teach our finished mules - things that add the comfort and safety a MMCO mule is known for. Lightning will sidepass, open and close gates, and - unlike mules from other places- has a light and responsive “reverse” gear. Many mules don’t like backing up, but with our training program they ALL learn and don’t mind one bit. Also, Lightning is great at the Pick Me Up and Drop Me Off maneuvers- sidepassing over to pick up a rider from a mounting block (or any handy thing) AND also sidepassing back to get you in a good position to get down, as well. ALL our mules are trained to stand for at least 45 full seconds from mounting before it’s time to go. We consider it adding a “parking brake.”

Confident Lady’s Dream Ride
Sorrel Molly Mule with flaxen mane and tail
9 years old
Tennessee Walker Mare
15 hands, stout and sturdy build
Are you a Lady rider with a bit of a daredevil streak? Do you have a need for speed, a burning desire to see the top of every climb and live for a chance to navigate terrain that would make a mountain goat think twice? Do you need a good “using mule” that rides great - right NOW, but you also enjoy forging a friendship with a more “one-man” horse or mule?
This gorgeous, shapely molly is going to make the RIGHT gal an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime mount! Under saddle, Canyon Star has everything an experienced, gaited trail rider would want -the perfect size, the rock solid conformation, the gait quality, “the down and dirty” trail skills, and STAMINA. Even someone transitioning from sporty straight-going or speed horses would find Canyon Star a hot little sports car of a ride - you need zero experience with gaited horses or mules to put her through all her paces.
In the pen, Canyon Star is uncomplicated with her peers and in the middle of the pecking order. She can be cool with strangers -sometimes downright chilly if she doesn’t know you AND you’re of the male persuasion - but a feed bucket helps a lot. Once she’s caught, Canyon Star has a tremendous work ethic, is easy to handle like all our mules, and is well accustomed to being groomed, clipped, shod and tacked. She’ll load easy into whatever trailer you have. We consider 15 hands to be about the perfect size - but Canyon Star does perform the “Pick Me Up” trick, and will side-pass over to you - whatever you’re standing on - and position herself to stand like a statue for mounting.
Canyon Star rides like a fast, working Tennessee Walker. Her gaits are clean with an excellent flat foot walk, and a good solid running walk that’s easy to ride at any speed. If that’s not enough, hold on to your hat and ask for more - she’s got a blazing fast rack, and she’s hoping you let her use it!
Take this girl on an ADVENTURE! On the trail she is a smooth gaited obstacle conquering machine - anywhere you want to go, from the side of the highway to the roughest back country trail or even right into the creek.
Tucson
TUSCON a handsome black bay john gelding with 4 white socks
Missouri Foxtrotter Bred 15.2 hands, shapey build, chiseled head and ear Want a trail or work partner that will turn heads everywhere you go while keeping you sitting smooth and comfortable in the saddle? Tucson Pete is a tall one that will catch your eye with his good looks. Then, he’ll win your respect for good with his versatility and easy riding, ground-covering gaits! This unique john mule has so much going for him!
With the endurance to go ALL day, Tucson Pete’s a great choice for trail-busting rides, steep terrain, or water crossings. Ride him with a loose rein on the rough trails, and he’s lowering his head and laser-focused on what’s ahead, watching where he’s putting his feet. (You can even see this wonderful quality in his videos!) In just a few minutes into a ride, even the most nervous rider realizes he’s “got this” and he really knows his job! Tucson Pete’s strong, solid build gives lots of raw power without excessive bulk. This means he can pack a taller, or heavy rider with ease - leaving them feeling safe in the saddle ALL day long.
So, if you’re a rider that’s getting back to riding, or you're just short on confidence, don’t worry - you can borrow some of his! On the ground, Tucson Pete’s everything you’d expect from one of our home-grown Missouri Mule Co. mules - respectful, and very easy to catch. Rub those ears, pick up those feet, clip, shoe him all around if you think he’ll need it… it’s all just a regular day at the office for this guy.
He’s a pretty big mule, but once you’re up in the saddle, his strength gives the impression that he’s even bigger than he really is. He’s got a no-nonsense, “been there, done that” kind of resume - rural farm traffic, big noisy equipment, livestock, dogs, screaming kids, bikes, the UPS guy… all no big deal. He’s seen the wilderness, and the things that jump out from the underbrush. That doesn’t phase him, either.
He is the reason for the (riding) season!
He builds your confidence more each successful ride.

Cinnamon
$9700
Cinnamon is the kind of mule that everybody wants and is always in such short supply. At 15.1 hands and a sturdy build, she can pack a heavy or tall rider all day, but not be too big for a shorter person to feel comfortable.
Now, Cinnamon may be mighty strong molly with a good, solid "feel" to her, but she has a soft side too. She's sweet natured and kind, and would probably be suitable for any Kido who knows how to ride a little and has outgrown their first pony. She's also a good confidence builder for someone who might be dealing with balance or fear issues. Don't delay if this is what you need-- it's hard to find a mule of this quality. It's not that they aren't out there-- it's just that they already belong to someone and simply aren't for sale
TWH Molly, 17 years old and 15.1 hands. Unique color that defies easy description. Kind of an apricot sorrel at first glance, then you notice the darker shading on her points. Almost like a faded out buckskin? Really interesting.

Headset and confirmation to die for
If Calley a 14 year old, never rider before can mount up, learn to ride and gait on him in 45 minutes. Then go for a 2 hour trail ride, you can too. Let us put you in this safe zone and make your life a pleasure! Calley has been riding Hickory 4 hours a week all around the community and he has NEVER frighted her 1 time.
Old Hickory is the kind of mule that welcomes pats and scratches when they’re offered, but isn’t going to fall all over himself trying to get attention. Our hunch is that Hickory is going to be a once in a lifetime find for the “do-it-yourself rider” with some experience and confidence in the saddle. If you’ve got the basic skills, his uncomplicated personality and easy to find gaits would make him a great option even if you’ve never had a mule before, or if you’re new to gaited mounts as well. Hijacker is the kind of mule that’d make an old fashioned US Cavalry Man sit up and take notice! There was a time not too long ago when our military ran off the sweat of strong, sensible and versatile mules like Hijacker. A real confidence builder
She has an appealing expression, with shapely ears, soft eye and a pretty head. At 14.1 hands, she’s the perfect size-- stocky enough adults can ride her, but still small enough that kids and petite folks will still feel comfortable. You don’t get much more solid than Darla! She has a great mind, and uses it to deliver the kind of ride that gets the old folks and nervous riders out of their rocking chairs and back into the saddle.
she does like to go, but only when you ASK. She’s more of a comfy touring sedan than a sports car. This makes her an uncomplicated, push-button glide ride, even for someone who’s just learning the joys of going gaited!
Dogs, ATV’s, noisy tractors, tarps, traffic and extreme trail obstacles-- she doesn’t mind. She’ll climb up, over or through anything you point her at… but she especially loves water crossings. And she doesn’t need you to be confident-- she has plenty confidence of her own and is happy to share some if you need it. She always has an ear back, listening for her rider.

Gentle Ben
ROCK SOLID 8 year old gaited John, former Disabled Vet's Mount!
8
Year Old Tennessee Walking Horse Bred Mule
15.2 hands build stout
A former alumni of our Mule Boot Camp, “Gentle Ben” left the Missouri Mule Co. a few years ago with a lot of specialized training under his belt to do a very unusual job that not every mule - (even the best of the best) - can do. Despite his rather young age at the time, Ben’s first job was as trail riding mount for a nature-loving Quadriplegic! Recently, due to ongoing health issues Ben’s rider had to hang up his saddle for good. Rather than retiring Ben to a lazy life as a pasture pet (when the best years of his life are still ahead of him!) he made the hard decision to return Ben to us, so he can go on to help another rider achieve their dream of hitting the trails again!
As you look through Virginia's still shots and her videos, you'll become aware of her uncanny disciplined personality. She has taken to all aspects of her training, applied it and cooperates with it. She seems to wait for your next directive and then complies. she cooperates and gives her all whether you're a woman with a soft hand or a man with a little rougher nature.
Be sure to review Virginia's diary for extensive videos.
Like all of his full brothers and sisters before him, “Rooster” is out of our famous Foxtrotter mare “Cookie.” Cookie has made a legend of herself here at MMCO for consistently throwing lit-up babies with high whites above the knee, stripe tails, heads full of sense and sweet dispositions. In fact, Cookie babies are so highly sought after that over the last few years, 3 of Rooster’s full siblings have been imported all the way… to Austria Europe & Germany!

The worlds legendary Missouri Mules have always had a highly esteemed reputation. That reputation was earned by applying its ability to help man compete and win on the battlefield or the cotton fields. Man has utilized this hybrid from the time Solomon road David’s She Mule to be anointed king of the Israelites all the way to the settlement of the wild west and after that the mule traversed two world wars. As they assisted man, they won his heart and soul. Now, after decades of developing excellent gaited mares and fine jack stock you have the privilege of sitting atop the safest gaited trail mounts ever produced.
4 Year Old Perfect Molly Mule Intro Video
.
Whether you’re planning to spend the next couple decades tearing up the trails or strutting your stuff in the show ring, you may have just stumbled across the partner of your dreams. This drop-dead gorgeous horse-shaped molly has all the eye appeal of a shapely Tennessee Walker, and every single lick of common sense that the best long eared parent can bring to the equation
Well accustomed to the hectic life of a busy farm, Raven’s seen and interacted with all kinds of farm animals - including rowdy children!- farm equipment, small game animals, some gunfire and a billion other things. She’s not inclined to be much of a spooker - stop and look is more of her default. We have noticed she does distinguish between dogs she knows/likes and dogs she’s not a fan of - she watches the latter group more carefully but isn’t bothered.
Raven has the makings of a once-in-a-lifetime mule and has so much going for her, it’s hard to know where to begin. From the moment she began her early training in our Playpen program we knew we were working with something special. Most mules are smart and that’s great.
On the ground, she’s people friendly and easy to catch - not quite the “puppy-dog” mule yet, but we suspect she’s waiting for *her* person. Because we know we eventually have to give them up, we try not to get too attached. In an effort to make sure our Boot Camp mules are exposed to as many character and confidence developing situations as possible, we also make sure that they are ridden by as many of our trainers and other people as possible, and are comfortable and like everyone. Once she settles in, Raven isn’t just going to be someone’s favorite ride - she’s also going to be someone’s pet. Her quality shows in every single interaction with her, and we believe that someone’s really going to be getting a once-in-a-lifetime mule.
Aside from one of the fastest, smoothest, most correct racking gaits a mule can offer, Raven’s well-trained and naturally athletic. Her gait spread is locked in, reliable and easy to cue. She’ll perform her flat-foot walk and running walk with a range of speed to each -a “working” version for going somewhere on the trail, and a “show” version in case you want to compete. This versatility makes her a pleasure to ride either on the rail or on the trail AND with other gaited horses and mules or with people riding slower going Quarter Horses. Check out her videos, you’ll be impressed!
BONUS STORY: As a green 3 year old, Raven went to Mule Days with one of our trainers and her 7 year old daughter and some of our other mules. With all the hustle and bustle of one of the biggest mule events in the country, Raven took it all in stride. When the girl’s pony turned up lame, Raven got the call and was steady enough for the kid to ride her at Mule Days and later a fall parade! Now that is Priceless!
Like all our mules here, Raven is trained on our “Pick Me Up” mounting technique. She will side pass to you, and park to get on. We train each mule to aid in the mounting process AND stand quietly for at least a full 45 seconds after the rider is in the saddle. Raven also has a decent little trail neck rein, and moves nicely off the leg and well on her way to full-on side passes.
This is what Raven will look like in 2022 but with a striking black nose.
In mules, honesty and work ethic is important. Raven was that rare youngster that tuned right into her riders within her first ride or two under saddle, and accepts each new rider with that same willingness to please. Because of this quality, she rides like she’s a much more seasoned mule than her age, and that has everything to do with what’s going on between those lovely long ears. Whether you’re 7 or 70 (and yes, she’s had them both!) Raven’s going to try to make you happy and give you what you ask for.

Sammy
Year Old Missouri Fox Trotter Bred Mule
15.1 hand, sleek build
Superior gait, sure footed 3 year old - all wrapped up with LOTS of chrome!
Sammy is a “Legacy” here at Missouri Mule Co. Born right here, he’s the latest of his full brothers and sisters to enter our saddle training program! His dam, Cookie , and his sire, Missouri Traveler MyAss, are a winning team. This cross has consistently produced the kind of mules we’re proud to call “home-grown.” For those of you that prefer mules like Sammy (whose background is a known quantity) feel free to check out our “Playpen” page, which explains in detail the training our young mules receive at birth. Playpen is the platform Sammy entered his trail training from.
Like all his siblings that have gone before him, Sammy has the quick mind, uncomplicated, business-like personality, and overall sanity that we’ve come to expect from his kin. It doesn’t hurt that he’s the perfect size and he’s good looking, too! On the ground, he’s everything you’d expect from one of our mules at this stage in his training. He’s kind, eager to please, loads well, leads and stands tied like an expert. Sammy stands 45 seconds minimum after mounting (safety 1st) He’s got a lot of “try” when faced with new situations both on the ground and under saddle, and is soft and responsive to the bit at all speeds. Under saddle, Sam has the comfortable, easy-to-find, ground-covering gait spread that makes riding gait seem effortless. No fussing around, fiddling with the bit, slowing, speeding up, or half-halts… just ask for gait, and there it is! There are mules three times his age that don’t have the kind of gait consistency that he had on his very first ride. Click here for Sammy's video diary

Fearless Daredevil Lead Mule -Confident Rider’s Dream!
Leroy is a Bay John Mule with flashy matching hind stockings
5 years old
Tennessee Walker Mare x Gaited Jack
14.3 hands, refined and stylish with gorgeous head.
Right now, this absolute machine of a john mule has everything an experienced gaited rider would want - and I mean EVERYTHING! The perfect size, the flashy markings, the uncompromising gait quality, the “down and dirty” trail skills… AND something not every john mule possesses - the potential and talent to eventually mature into a solid “beginner-friendly” ride, as well. At only 4 years old, it’s easy to forget Leroy’s isn't the Trail Bosses Mount that’s going to continue to get better and better. This makes him a pretty hot commodity for a few different situations. Many mature riders look for a young mule just like this to carry them through a few decades and into their golden years in comfort, safety and style. Like many of the finer things in life, a good mule only gets better with age! Also, active riding families with many up and coming young riders like mules like Leroy. Right now, the adults can enjoy him and put the kind of polish they want on him, and by the time the kids are ready to take their riding seriously, he’all be ready to step up and take on the youngsters on back country adventures as well. Nikkei is a Sorrel Molly Mule with a light nose and flaxen mane and tail. 7 years old Speed Racking Horse Mare x Gaited Jack 14.2 hands, sturdy build
Prize-Winning Show and Trail Speed Racking Molly - You’ll never see another like her
If most of our mules can be considered “luxury off-road vehicles,” Quickie Nikkei is the model with the souped-up engine. But don’t let her name fool you… yes, she lives up to it, but there is SO much more to this once-in-a lifetime molly than her smoking fast racking gait! Her versatility, for one: Nikkei is equally at home in the show ring, on the road, or deep in the deep elk woods. Don’t forget her ultra cooperative attitude - Nikkei is one of those rare mules with a speed gait that can turn it on or off as her rider requests. She has no agenda of her own, and only seeks the approval of whoever is in the saddle. She’s happy to dog walk along with the pokey riders, if that’s what you want. She can leave them behind and rack on for awhile, if you feel like being a speed demon and any sped in between - but the bottom line is when you’re done, she’s done. No jigging, head tossing, or staying wound up. Whoever is in the saddle is the boss, and Nikkei dishes out the kind of ride that will hook an expert rider, and build the confidence of a nervous or fearful rider.
0.
Unlike many speed mules, Nikkei has a soft mouth, is ridden in a mild bit, and is very responsive to cues. No harsh bits, no gimmicks, no fiddling around trying to keep her in gait. Just a no-nonsense, consistent, prize winning ride every time. Exactly what you’d expect from a Missouri Mule CO. Premium Mule. Click for more Video Diaries

ROCK SOLID 7 year old gaited John, former Disabled Vet's Mount!
7
Year Old Tennesse Walking Horse Bred Mule
There are many riders out there that, for whatever reason, need a mule that has something a little *extra.* Whether they’re recovering from an accident and getting their confidence back, or they’re determined to stay in the saddle during their senior years, or they’re looking for a mule that will help them overcome a physical limitation and still ride. Finding the right mules and finishing them OUR WAY is the most rewarding part of our business, and we’re honored to have one of this great molly available right now.

Katie
Black Bay Molly Mule with dark brown nose
7 years old
Tennessee Walker Mare
The perfect size! 15 hands - medium build, pretty head
This “Been there, done that” black bay Molly is everything most gaited mule shoppers would be looking for. At 7 years old, she’s seasoned enough to have had years to build her skill set and lock it in, and young enough that you can partner up and enjoy decades of good times to come! Katie’s willingness to go the extra mile and no-nonsense work ethic will be appreciated by experienced riders, too - including her sensitivity to leg cues and light handle, while a less experienced rider will breathe a sigh of relief as they discover her uncomplicated attitude, biddable nature and trail skills galore! Katie has no holes in her training. No agenda of her own, either. Just fun.

Like all our finished mules, Katie not only stands like a statue for mounting, she’ll sidepass over to come pick you up! Check out our video of the “Pick Me Up” technique- where you’ll see a demonstration of what it’s like to have a mule help you into the saddle. Once you’re up there, Katie’s going to be patient while you settle in and check your gear - she’s happy to let you get your bearings and not expecting to walk off right away.
In addition to Bishop Mule Days, where Katie got to experience the hustle and bustle of one of the mule community’s biggest events, she had lots of real life “everyday situation” riding. This molly appreciates a light touch, has a good handle all around - even for leg cues - and has a very good trail neck rein. Like all our finished Missouri Mule Company mules, Katie’s seen it ALL. She’s an expert at managing herself around the busy day-to-day activities of a working farm, like livestock, noisy poultry, and the like, but also cars, kids, guns, dogs, horse drawn vehicles, big farm equipment, the FedEx guy and all kinds of wildlife both dead and alive. Katie’s got the grit and confidence to handle the trickiest water crossings and rockiest descents, and competence to back it up. This is very comforting when you’re in the saddle, and looking down between her ears at a steep drop off! Everything about her sweet, willing attitude says “Don’t worry - I’ve gotcha.”

Not everyone wants the basic, reliable family sedan. Some people want the flashy sports cars with the fancy paint job - and THIS molly is one of those! Lady is a powerhouse ride with a big motor. If you tell her what you want, she will cooperate.
Lady is truly one of the most unique mollies we’ve ever had here at MMCO! Size? Check! Standing an honest 15.2 hands high, she’s one of the tallest gaited mules we’ve ever offered. Color? Check! It’s like she has a custom paint job - her coat is this wild fusion of reds and golds, shot through with roaning, a white spot, and 4 high stockings!. Her base shade is hard to describe- it’s not quite sorrel, but not really palomino, either. Kind of like a rose gold. We’re guessing she’ll
have a different look every season of the year - many roans are like that. (Read

This solid and sturdy little gelding John has a real fan club here at Missouri Mule Co. This 3 year old john gelding has flashy tobiano markings and is as cute as they come! Although he’s not gaited, Apache has such a smooth and comfortable trot that it might not matter to some people. We have some video that shows off his nice jog-trot, like a stock horse, but also has a floating extended trot and a nice collected canter that would make an English rider swoon. He’s going to be versatile, and could be taken in several different directions, depending on what his rider wants to do.

A sweet, personable gelding that’s easy to handle, beginner-safe, and is VERY consistent even with months between rides, “Uncomplicated” is the word that best sums him up. It also sums up his lovely gaits, which are leisurely, controlled and still deceptively ground-covering. He’s a good looking fellow, too, with a cute head, compact solid frame and flashy ankle socks. Perfect size? Check!
Perfect age? Check!
Perfect gaits? Check!
Calamity Jane is going to check the boxes for a lot of people who are on the waiting list, so if you need sweet, smooth and uncomplicated you’d better be first - or be SORRY!
Shiny Black molly 10 years old TWH bred 15.1 hands, elegant and refined build. If you’re the kind of rider that appreciates an eye-popping, beautiful mule, that’s also so laid-back she’s safe for the grandparents and the kids. If you’ve been looking for a long time for that “once in a lifetime mule” the only Calamity here is if you let this one get away without checking her out to see if she’d work for you. She’s one of our highest caliber rides here at Missouri Mule Company, and we think you’ll agree. (read More)
Under saddle, Calamity Jane is laid back, and mellow. Her calm nature makes her the kind of mule that stands nicely for mounting, but she also parks out great and stays put till you tell her to step off. She’s not as forward as some of the others we’ve had - and that is a quality worth it’s weight in gold to the right rider! This makes her a deluxe confidence builder anywhere you want to ride her. Road, trails, mountains, or right up the bottom of a creek, Calamity doesn’t care. We’ve been trying to find anything that upsets her - and we’ve been kind of creative about it - but so far we’ve struck out. Dogs, cats, flapping things, running water, tractors, cars, the UPS truck, deer, flapping pheasants and IRS men - and not a hesitation or a spook about her! (Ok, just kidding about the flapping pheasants and IRS men . They scare everyone. But if we find one, we’ll be sure she’s not scared of him. Heck, the way she is, she’d probably just want him to pet her!)
We’d say how much she loves women and kids, but the truth is, she’s just not picky, and might be an absolutely fantastic fit for a family mule, or someone that has kids or a newbie husband and need a mule they can throw anyone and the little ones up on.
If you appreciate blazing fast speed and a floating smooth power ride, but also expect your mule to be easy to control, you’ll want to check out Ruthie! Paladin is a sweet little powerhouse of a foxtrotter gelding with good looks, sweet personality and very correct, smooth gaits. This gelding has a LOT to offer the right person!

Cinnamon
Cinnamon is the kind of mule that everybody wants and is always in such short supply. At 15.1 hands and a sturdy build, she can pack a heavy or tall rider all day, but not be too big for a shorter person to feel comfortable.
Now, Cinnamon may be mighty strong molly with a good, solid "feel" to her, but she has a soft side too. She's sweet natured and kind, and would probably be suitable for any kiddo who knows how to ride a little and has outgrown their first pony. She's also a good confidence builder for someone who might be dealing with balance or fear issues. Don't delay if this is what you need-- it's hard to find a mule of this quality. It's not that they aren't out there-- it's just that they already belong to someone and simply aren't for sale
TWH Molly, 10 years old and 15.1 hands. Unique color that defies easy description. Kind of an apricot sorrel at first glance, then you notice the darker shading on her points. Almost like a faded out buckskin? Really interesting.
Moses has a fine swinging gate that comes from his TWH mothers linage. Raised and started by a Amish family. I am so happy to have found him and developed the Trail Mount you have been looking for.

Peaches
Not every mule has what it takes to be a good family pet, but this beautiful apricot-chestnut Molly is a real treasure! She's got that "baby sitter" mindset-- which makes her aware when one of her riders needs skills of confidence-- but she also has the honesty and work-ethic.
Baby sitting is nice and all, but most novice or fearful riders don't want to be "the baby" forever. That's when Peaches shows her sweetest side. She has the hard-core trail-breaking experience that can take that novice or fearful rider and start giving them the skills they need to take their riding-- and their confidence-- to the next level.

Earned? Well, that is another matter.
Peaches does more than just keep novice riders safe while they learn the ropes. Experienced riders will admire her sure footedness, willing attitude and sheer power. Dynamite comes in small packages, you know! She'll go first, she'll go last, and she'll go anywhere in between. She'll even go alone! Being towards the high end of the pecking order means she's not concerned about what the rest of the herd is doing. Being a people-lover means she's tuned into whoever is on her back. (Read More)
Most mules as steady and finished as Peaches are considerably older, but she's only a 2006 model with years and years ahead of her. At 14.1 hands, she is solid and well-put together, she can handle a heavier rider without needing a lot of extra height that just makes it harder to mount. If you'd like to make those fall 2014 trail rides the sweetest EVER, you might want to check her out before she's gone!

Great ladies mule. Sweet and loves attention. Oh! You guys would like her too.
Perfect Timing is her name, and safe comfortable trail rides are her game! This elegant molly has great gaits on BOTH sides of the family tree-- her dam was a beautiful Tennessee Walker mare, but her daddy was a real gaited jack! No wonder she doesn't set a foot down wrong. Perfect Timing has a beautiful, refined and feminine look to her that gets compliments wherever she goes. Her gait is very rhythmic, which makes her a natural choice for riders with lower back tightness-- the passive stretching (that comes from riding the right mount) is better than a massage for some conditions. But there's more to this Molly than just looks and smooth, floaty, 4 beat gaits -- she also has a good mind for her job, making her exceptionally consistent-- solid on all spooks and tricky footing situations. Lots of good brains in that pretty little head! Some mules are just born craving that one-on-one relationship with humans, and even if you are a discerning or nervous rider, Perfect Timing will make you feel at home in the saddle while engaging you with her sweet and affectionate personality.

Sugar even has a great little lope that's easy to ride and easy to get into. Contrary to what some people might try to sell you, you CAN lope a gaited horse or mule without ruining their gaits-- but they need to have to have training first! No short-cuts here at The Missouri Mule Company, and it SHOWS. Sugar's a big little mule who had literally done it ALL. Moved cattle, large overnight camping trips with chuck wagons and everyone misbehaving all around her, snow rides, river and boggy marsh crossings, plus thousands and thousands of miles of all-terrain trail rides. This mule doesn't need YOU to be confident because she has enough confidence for both of you. Ride first, last, or alone-- it just doesn't matter to her. She's going to be the same sweet ride every time, even if it's weeks between rides. Like all our mules here at The Missouri Mule Company, Sugar is the product of insightful and humane training methods that are centered on producing the safest and most comfortable trail mounts available today. At 15.1 hands, Sugar is short enough for the grannies and kids, and powerful enough to do a full day's work with a big rider-- and STILL gait a big Tennessee Walker into the ground! We sell and ship over the USA and the world, so if you're finally ready for that once-in-a-lifetime partner that will absolutely NOT disappoint-- here she is!
This TWH Gaited Molly has a wonderfully settled mind. She is attentive to the riders cues. She is aware at an unusual level of where she is and what her surrounding present to her. She is happy to move out but satisfied to stand down and relax if that is your choice.

When your need is a smaller mount and a gait to keep up with the bigger mules, I highly Recommend this Molly!

Folsom
- 2006 Missouri Foxtrotter John Mule
-15 3 Hands
-Flat Foot, Running Walk
-Short Loap
Marshall has a solid Flat Foot walk and respectable Short Lope.
He is the half brother to Folsom out of one of our original Fox Trotting mares.
Marshall started out broke and has just been getting better all along. He has cooperated with every aspect of his training. If every mule we cot in was as pliable as Marshall, Missouri Mule Boot Camp would be a piece of cake.
At this price you will never get as safe and great a mule as Folsom.

It is easy to see Ellie is always a lady. Everyone looks stunning riding her through camp. Everyone is in a safe zone whiter riding alone or in a group on Ellie. Follow along on one of her rides by clicking here.
This would be my personal 2011 Grand Canyon mount.
After hundreds of miles of trail riding we aree making a declaration.
Annie Get Your Gun is one of our top 2 mules ever produced at Missouri Mule Company. Even if she isn’t for you, peruse her photos and videos for a real treat.
She seamlessly makes her transitions between different gaits and her short lope. And get ready for a sliding stop when you command “WHOA”
Believe me, everything good you have heard about mules is in Annie and everything bad is somewhere else.
-2007 Missouri Foxtrotter Molly

-She is a spitfire. Likes to get up and go.

Annie is everything you expected a hybrid to be. And, everything you wouldn't.
I was ponying Ali, my assistant, on some young colts today. As I bragged about how Annie was “Broke Broke” she said why don’t we keep Annie as our ranch mule. I laughed and said I would keep a ranch mule when I turned 75 years old. The point is Annie is a “Ranch Broke Mule”. She rousts those young trainees around like a drill sergeant. What ever comes her way she takes in stride. A delight, yep, she is just a delight! Take the time to review her diary, I know you will enjoy her review.

Dolly Parton has the most impressive set of EARS we have ever seen. She is a compact, get it done sort of mule. Smooth gaits that facilitates long rides and easy conversations. She parks out for easy mounting. Each of my girl trainers picks her as their favorite ride!
Technically speaking Dolly is light years in front of any 4x4 in the woods. She is sure footed as a mountain sheep. As attentive to trail conditions as a fox. As comfortable in her surroundings at a short loap as she is in a gait. Patient enough for you to sit and chat with your friends but responsive to you slightest directions. Tex is one heck of a catch. Not many horses make there way to our web pages, but there is the occasional performer that cuts the grade and can go with the mules I train. Of course his color is what catches most folks eyes first. Then his marvelous gait rivets their attention on him. Then, his performance on the trail captivates them.
His foot placement is reminiscent of the original Missouri Foxtrotter gait that was developed to cover rough rocky ground in a sure-footed four beat gait. He has as a powerful mind that moves you down the trail in an effortless ride. Click here for more photos & movies
Tucson
-2005 Tennessee Walking Horse Horse Mule
-14 hands
-Flat Foot, Running Walk
-Pretty Pal amino with a blaze face
Tucson is an ingeniously crafted hybrid that embodies the soul of the not so common equine.
Adrenaline-filled trail riding on Tucson is a delight.
He takes on any mule or horse in the stamina department and always finishes with the group at the end of the day. With an aggressive mind set and a four legged suspension to take on any terrain. He powers through any obstacle that confront him on the trail. Those are his inner attributes. The ones outside are obvious. Huge inside but small outside creates a compact mule that carries you safely anywhere you want to ride. Once there it's easy to mount and dismount. His palomino color is timeless. Add the blaze face and there is a chromed up ride of a lifetime. Tucson is proof that the best form of gratification is the instant kind.

We have several well disciplined, safe gaited trail mules ready to take you on your favorite trails. Our John and the Molly mules will be pleasant companions at the barn and on the trail.
During extreme cold, icy conditions we train our gaited saddle mules in the training barn. During fair winter weather we develop your next gaited trail mule in the Ozark Mountains around our home. At times we attend Bird Dog Field Trails offering extreme conditions for the mules to acclimate to. Up to 30 mounted spectators. Four hour periods under saddle while being exposed to dogs and gunfire. These are a few ways we produce the top string of trail mules anywhere.
We are continually preparing them to take you safely on any trail no mater how challenging.

Let’s face it, us Fifty and ups are in a hurry to get where were going and see as much as we can on the way. Comfort is up most as we go and we are done with running or bouncing in the saddle to see over the next ridge. You and I search for comfort in the saddle as a Missouri Mule Company mule searches for gait under the saddle. None of us are satisfied until we reach our comfort zone. Mr. President will put you in that zone each and every ride.

JAZZ
Madison
New Owner of Jazz
I love to place the correct mule with the right person. This is the ultimate thrill for me. Madisons' (a 12 year old from Phoenix Arizona,)mother bought Jazz for her. Now that is a mother to cherish! Anyway, Madison is not going to get Jazz for a couple of months but that did not stop the mule / human relationship most folks are looking for. Madison already has a t-shirt and bag to match with New Orleans Jazz as the focus. She is planning to use him as a 4-H project. Life is good at Missouri Mule Company when opportunities like this come to attrition. "You Go Madison!"
